Kaikai Kiki Gallery is pleased to present “Telepathy,” the first large-scale solo exhibition by Korean artist YEYE, from November 5 (Wed) to December 6 (Sat), 2025.
YEYE earned a Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Animation and a Master’s degree from the Graduate School of Manga at Kyoto Seika University. She began her career as a manga artist and, since 2022, has also been active as a painter. Her works were first exhibited by Kaikai Kiki Gallery at ART SG 2025 in Singapore in January 2025. Since then, we have been presenting her new works at various other art fairs, and this exhibition marks her first major solo show.
At the core of YEYE’s creative practice lies the presence of her companion dog, Moonge, who looked like a fluffy cloud and spent around 15 years by her side. The “Telepathy” exhibition showcases a collection of works themed around Moonge.
We warmly invite you to visit the gallery to enjoy the exhibition.

Below is a message from YEYE in her own words, written specially for this occasion.

Foreword

I would always press my forehead gently against Moonge’s small, round one and whisper, “I love you so much.”
Moonge would then give me a slightly bothered look and lick my face.

Even now, every day, every second, I turn those same words into a bundle of emotions and place them deep in my brain and heart.
Then, I send that bundle off, beyond time and space—hoping it will reach a place where there may be no one, far, far away… or perhaps, unexpectedly, right next to me.

Has my telepathy reached you?
Has it resonated in your heart, in your mind?
Will your reply—your telepathy—find its way back to me?

Greeting

Nice to meet you. I’m YEYE.
I’m truly delighted to be holding my first solo exhibition in Japan in such a beautiful space.

As has always been the case, I don’t make detailed plans when I paint. But at the heart of my work is always the presence of my muse and companion—my dog, Moonge—and through him, a reflection of my own inner world.

While Moonge was alive, I simply tried to capture him as he was.
But now, I find myself on a journey to search for his “form.”

As I walk, run, breathe, get blown in the wind, and get caught in the rain just as always—while everything now passes through the empty shell that I have become—I want to leave behind something that endures: a “form” that remains by my side.

The one saved by this act of creation is myself, the artist—but I also hope that all of you who come to this exhibition and view the works will find solace in them as well.

I hope the telepathy between Moonge and me will also reach each of you.
